An Inconvenient Truth premiers in Sonoma County

The Climate Protection Campaign was on hand in June for “An Inconvenient Truth,” the Al Gore film on global warming that premiered at Rialto Cinemas. Along with the Sierra Club, Community Clean Water Institute, and Solar
Sebastopol, the Campaign worked a table in the lobby. Hundreds of movie goers signed our petitions in support of AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, and in support of Sonoma County’s 25% greenhouse gas reduction target.

As Roger Ebert said in his review of the film, you owe it to yourself to see it. Gore presents the science masterfully and shares his personal odyssey in understanding the importance of this issue. "Truth" ends on a hopeful note
with suggestions of things that we can all do to create a more positive future.

Thanks to Ky Boyd of the Rialto for showing the film and allowing us to get the word out about what is happening locally. Thanks also to the many volunteers who worked the table and helped prepare materials! Kudos to Anne
Hudgins of the Sierra Club who has collected signatures at the Rialto nearly every night for a month when the film opened.
